Breathing New Life Into Classic Rock

If you are looking for an artist currently breathing new life into classic sounds, Atticus Roness needs to be on your radar. The fast-rising songwriter has a real knack for intertwining vintage rock elements with a modern twist, layering his catalogue with subtle, atmospheric nods to legends like Pink Floyd. Speaking exclusively to BritRock Heaven about his influences:

For me, it always comes back to British Invasion firstly. The Beatles, The Stones, The Kinks, and loads more that never got their flowers. That songwriting has been my sonic compass since the start. With this tune in specific, I was going for a bit more of a 70’s sound, like Pink Floyd or Zeppelin.

But the studio recordings only tell half the story. Ronnes channels the true, unfiltered spirit of rock ‘n’ roll through an electric stage persona, delivering high-energy live sets that have rightfully earned him opening slots for acts like Moon Taxi, Flipturn, and Drake Bell.

From Acoustic Warmth to Electric Energy

His latest release, "Wives' Tales" is a perfect testament to that dynamic musical range. Describing the creation of the track, Roness told us:

Wives’ Tale really was a gift. Came to me in early 2022, and sort of wrote itself as I was sitting with my guitar. All of it just felt right and we are so excited to have it finally released. While, Wives’ Tale does feel like the heartbeat of the record, the whole album is true rock ‘n’ roll. The ballads, the energy, the swagger, we really did our best to be inspired without imitation and I think the result is a damn good album.

The track opens with a lush acoustic arrangement that establishes a beautifully warm, inviting tempo. Wearing its classic rock influences proudly on its sleeve, the organic instrumentation perfectly sets the stage before a driving drum beat kicks the door open. From there, Roness delivers his vocals with a sharp, astute clarity that commands immediate attention. The track brilliantly builds momentum; as the acoustic foundation drops away, a soaring, electric-driven sound takes full control. Packed with undeniably infectious riffs that inject the track with a massive swagger, "Wives' Tales" is a towering anthem that makes it completely impossible not to air-guitar along.

The Road to 'Rock ‘n’ Roll Hit Parade'

The single leads the charge for Ronnes' upcoming album, Rock ‘n’ Roll Hit Parade, which is set for an official release on September 4, 2026, through Reel People Music.

If this track is any indication of what is to come, the new record will be an absolute must-listen.
