Jon McClure Vows Tramlines Show Will Go Ahead After Scooter Accident

Jon McClure has reassured fans that Reverend and the Makers will still perform at Tramlines this weekend after a scooter accident left him injured and shaken.

The Sheffield frontman revealed that he was involved in the accident on Wednesday after doing what he described as “summat daft” on a scooter. McClure admitted the incident was his own fault and said he felt embarrassed about how it happened.

However, the accident may have caused more than a few bruises. The singer said he was in significant pain and believed he could have suffered a broken rib.

Reverend and the Makers are due to perform at Tramlines in their hometown of Sheffield this weekend, making the timing particularly unfortunate. McClure remains closely associated with the festival, having been involved during its early years and headlining its first edition in 2009.

He told supporters that he would perform even if he needed medication to get through the shows, while admitting that the accident had left him feeling shaken.

Fans have since flooded the singer’s social media with messages urging him to rest and recover before taking to the stage.

The Tramlines appearance arrives during another busy period for Reverend and the Makers, following the release of their latest album, Is This How Happiness Feels?

For Sheffield music fans, the band’s Tramlines sets have become a regular part of the festival’s identity. McClure’s determination to perform despite the accident will therefore come as a relief to supporters heading to Hillsborough Park.
