The Snuts Have Just Entered Their Most Personal Era Yet

The Snuts have announced their fourth studio album, Joy In Short Moments, and it already feels like this could be one of their most personal releases yet.

The Scottish indie band will release the new album on 23 October 2026, with new single Defibrillator giving fans the first proper taste of what is to come.

For a band who have already had a strong run with W.L, Burn The Empire and Millennials, this next chapter feels less like a simple follow-up and more like a moment of reflection. The Snuts are not exactly strangers to big choruses, festival-ready hooks and songs that sound built for crowds, but Joy In Short Moments seems to be leaning into something a little more real.

The new single Defibrillator appears to open the door on a warmer, more grounded era for the band. Rather than just chasing another huge indie anthem, the track seems focused on connection, perspective and the people who pull you back when life starts getting too loud.

Frontman Jack Cochrane has spoken about the record being shaped by real life, change, loss and family, which gives the album a deeper emotional weight before it has even landed.

The band will also head out on a UK tour later this year, running from 19 November to 10 December 2026.

That should give fans the chance to hear this new material where The Snuts often make the most sense: live, loud and surrounded by people singing every word back at them.

With Joy In Short Moments, The Snuts look like they are stepping into a more thoughtful era without losing the directness that made people care in the first place.

If Defibrillator is the starting point, this could be a big one.
